Married in Makara - Part Two

When is Sunday the new Saturday? When Monday is a public holiday! Bringing our pop-ups to Wellington on anniversary weekend means we can take more bookings, and our couples can relax (or party hard) on either day - and we can keep costs down for you guys by just travelling down once a year instead of twice.

And so begins part two, completely different to the day before with a total summer’s day vibe. We absolutely adore the historic chapel, but were excited to switch things up a bit with a few outdoor ceremonies (before that famous Wellington wind kicked in!)

Part of what makes this so fun for our team is meeting and working with new and talented folks. For our second pop-up wedding day of the weekend, we were joined by the lovely Jaymee Photography, and celebrant Patricia Robbie. We loved Jaymee’s romantic eye - tapping into natural moments. What you see here is 100% realness. And Trish wowed us right from the start with her warm and lovely nature, delivering four beautiful ceremonies over the day, as well as being a wonderful MC in between.

Check our more of the detail below and if you haven’t peep part one - you can have a looksie here.

Emily & Leandro

Would you look at these two sweethearts! A pair of beautiful souls - and fun too! The only couple we’ve had who had their very own secret handshake. Emily’s talented parents provided some live ceremony music which was super special.

Brooke & John

It was getting pretty warm by the time 2pm rolled around. We debated moving inside, but over the years we’ve learned to follow our instinct and something just felt right to hold this wedding outside. Brooke was stoked, having envisaged an outdoor ceremony.

We’re still coveting that baby blue Toyota #dreamcar

Amanda & Michele

Our brides sport some pretty awesome rides, but you best believe we lost our damn minds when Michele arrived via motorbike - complete with a veil on the helmet. Yes, yes and yes!

Jess & Geoff

Lucky last, we couldn’t think of a better way to end the weekend than with these two. Like something straight out of a fairy tale!

Fancy a Sunday wedding here in January 2020? Well you’re in luck!
