The Best of Skinny Love 2016/17 - DRESSES!

Another amazing wedding season has come to a close, and before we open up the next we thought it would be a good idea to give shout outs to some of our faves. This season Skinny Love married 40 couples, and we're well on our way to marrying even more this season!

We're always swooning over our brides, because even though Skinny Love is a super affordable wedding alternative, our ladies are all so stylish! Here's some of our favourite dresses from the last year :)

Classic Lace

Lace was back in a big way this past season, and we were 100% into it. We were continually impressed at how lace is being used at the moment to create statement dresses, in a variety of silhouettes - dowdy lace gowns are a thing of the past, friends!

Szelin

Form-fitting and utterly fabulous, the Skinny Love team unanimously loved Szelin's dress and overall style. Paired with burgundy heels, colourful flowers in her hair and a bold bouquet from Floramay, this outfit was sexy and fun. And you wouldn't believe it, but Szelin picked this dress up on TradeMe!

Lianna

Lianna and hubby Jermaine were one of our bespoke couples this season, opting to get hitched at our Flat Bush venue in South Auckland. It was a hideous July day, lots of rain and cloud, but that wasn't stopping these two. Lianna's amazing lace dress had a dramatic cape sewn into it. She took a classic, flattering cut and made it modern and high fashion. Put simply: we bloody loved it.

Tazmyn

While Taz herself is not your traditional bride, her lace look was a total classic. Her half-length lace sleeve was matched with a sweet veil to create a truly lovely look that really worked for a mid-winter wedding. She was actually glowing!

Keeping it Colourful

Of course, a wedding dress doesn't have to be white! We also loved these ladies who opted for something different over the last season.

Jane

Jane was an absolute stunner in this peachy-blush one-of-a-kind gown that was highlighted with a sparkly Pasifika print. Matched with colourful flowers in her hair and bouquet, she made a striking Fiesta de Amor bride! Hubby Marvin couldn't take his eyes off her, and we could see why!

C'Nedra

Now this is what we call colour! C'Nedra chose a deep burgundy/purple in a classic Grecian cut for her wedding at our first ever pop-up at Woodlands Homestead in Hamilton. The colour photographed beautifully in the early evening light, and this pair got some of the best golden hour photos we've ever seen at Skinny Love. Perfection!

Kate

Kate totally rocked it in this muted dove grey with purple undertones at our April pop-up day in West Auckland. We loved the colour, but were also drawn to the simple modern line of the silhouette and texture of the bodice detailing too. Kate managed to achieve that difficult mid-way of looking stylish but completely comfortable too, bravo!

Six stunning brides, six completely different looks - and this is just a selection from our most epic season yet!

Our mantra is 'your wedding day, your way' and we reckon each of these brides exemplifies just that. The dress of your dreams might be full lenth or tea length, tulle or cotton, plain or printed - as long as it's the dress you want, go for it!
